本發明係關於一種可二階段耦合之三維波導耦合器及其製造方法，該可二階段耦合之三維波導耦合器係包括：一第一基板、至少一波導層、至少一輔助光柵、至少一耦合介質層、及至少一三維結構層，其中，透過該三維結構層、該耦合介質層與該輔助光柵，可以二階段耦合之方式，將光波由三維結構層內耦合進入該波導層；該製造方法係透過發展成熟的的半導體製程，製作該可二階段耦合之三維波導耦合器，而不需重新開發製程設備或增購其它機台。 The present invention relates to a waveguide coupler capable of two-step coupling and a manufacture method thereof, the waveguide coupler comprises: a substrate, at least one waveguide layer, at least one assisting grating, at least one coupling material layer, and at least one 3-D structure layer, wherein it is able to couple the light into the waveguide layer by way of two-step coupling through the 3-D structure layer, the coupling material layer and the assisting grating. The manufacture method is adapted to fabricate the waveguide coupler capable of two-step coupling via the present semiconductor process technology without increasing any equipment.
