技術說明

3D立體顯示器可以在一般傳統液晶顯示器上搭配一層視差格柵元件即可實現3D影像，目前所發展的可切換2D/3D顯示器，在切換顯示效果後需要持續對作用的元件供電，在追求節能減碳的世代下並不符合需求。本發明使用膽固醇液晶的穩態結構來製作可切換2D/3D顯示影像的光電元件，只有在切換時耗電，切換後即可穩定存在不需要再額外供給電壓，以實現低耗能，因應環保綠化的趨勢。 膽固醇液晶具有平面結構(Planar Texture, 以下簡稱P態)、焦椎狀結構(Focal Conic Texture, 以下簡稱F態)、垂直排列結構(Homeotropic, 以下簡稱H態)與穩定型橫向螺旋結構(Uuniform Lying Helix, 以下簡稱ULH態)四種結構，如圖一。其中P態與F態為液晶本身的穩態，即不需要提供電場就能穩定存在。膽固醇液晶藉由適當的材料摻雜、電極設計、與邊界條件，膽固醇液晶在H態與ULH態也可以是穩態。本發明使用膽固醇液晶來製作具有2D/3D切換效果的顯示畫面，主要可分為以下兩種機制 : (1)使用膽固醇液晶的穩態結構製作，可切換透明態或具有部分區域透明、部分區域遮光的像差格柵元件 (2)使用膽固醇液晶的穩態結構製作可切換透明態或散射態的擴散層，且兩機制在切換後皆不需持續供電即可穩定存在。 Switchable and low power-consuming 2D/3D image display devices are proposed by using stable states of cholesteric liquid crystal. Upon the switching from 2D to 3D imaging as well as the reverse switching is complete, the applied electric field is no longer needed to maintain the structure until the next switching.The invention proposed two approaches to achieve bistable 2D to 3D switching using cholesteric liquid crystal: (1) Use stable state of cholesteric liquid crystal to construct a parallax barrier (2) Use stable state of cholesteric liquid crystal to construct a diffusive layer.
