技術說明

在無線人體區域網路與物聯網等新興的應用型態，而在這類低工作週期型應用中，系統處於閒置時間的待機功率往往佔據系統總能量消耗的一大部分，而近年來出現非揮發性微處理器利用非揮發性記憶體斷電後仍能維持儲存資料的特色，使系統可電源切斷且無待機模式造成資料損失與待機漏電流的影響。近幾年非揮發性微處理器相關研究，大部分只考量到非揮發性微處理器系統中硬體的部分，會造成較大的功率消耗與面積額外代價但未探討通訊界面與周邊裝置不同步與時間認知差異等潛在的例外狀況，以及在軟硬體共同設計下讓硬體達到最佳化的方法。本提案以系統運行的角度考量軟硬體交互作用的非揮發性微處理器實現方法，提出可編程的例外處理程序解決系統回復之例外狀況產生，並提出系統狀態分類及選擇性儲存操作機制將非揮發性正反器使用量至最少。 In applications of ultralow-power microprocessors such as internet of things and wireless body area network are rapidly developing, systems spend more time on standby mode, so that energy consumption is critical part during this time. Nonvolatile microprocessors (NVPs) are potential candidate in the applications mentioned above because NVPs have attractive characteristics like instant on/off, zero standby power and resilient of power failures. However, recent researches only consider hardware integration for NVPs to result in some problems, for example, system instability, more energy consumption, and large area overhead. This patent proposes an implementation method considering the interaction of software and hardware on NVPs, including programmable states recovery exception handling process, NV storage reduction with system states partition and selective store for redundancy store operation eliminating.
