可重組式移動補償架構之設計空間探索方法Design space exploration method of reconfigurable motion compensation architecture

提出可重組式移動補償架構之設計空間探索方法。首先,設定預定應用規格。接著,從多種視訊壓縮標準所分別對應之移動補償演算法中萃取共同性,並據以分析各移動補償演算法之運算量以決定處理元件所包含之運算元件。基於預定應用規格,在可重組式移動補償架構於尖峰運算量及資料組態最差情況下,分析以不同資料粒度及不同數量之處理元件進行各移動補償演算法時之資料流程,並據以獲得各移動補償演算法所對應之硬體參數。基於預定設計目標及硬體參數,選擇可重組式移動補償架構之預定資料粒度及預定數量之處理元件。 A design space exploration method of reconfigurable motion compensation (RMC) architecture adapted to multi-standard video coding is provided herein. First, a predetermined application specification is set. Next, at least one community is extracted among a plurality of motion compensation (MC) algorithms respectively corresponding to a plurality of video compress standards, and number of operation of each MC algorithm is analyzed based on the community for determining number of operation in a processing element (PE). Data flows of processing each MC algorithm with different data granularities and different amount of PE are analyzed under the assumption that the RMC architecture operates in the case of peak number of operation and in the worst case of data configuration so as to obtain a plurality of hardware parameters. Based on a predefined design target and the hardware parameters, a predefined data granularity and a predefined PE number of the RMC architecture can be selected.
