技術說明

目前跳蚤忌避劑的測試大多使用動物或人來當作測試的對象；試驗成本昂貴且耗費許多時間，雖然以動物或人當作忌避測試對象較接近真實的情況，但通常研究之化學物質尚未經過毒性安全試驗，直接進行動物或人體測試，具有潛在危險性，因為這或許會造成許多人嚴重過敏，甚至導致急性皮膚炎的症狀。因此本發明技術發展一種新穎之跳蚤忌避劑篩選方法，利用一種簡單之長條濾紙結合圓底玻璃試管，只要於長條濾紙之一邊滴上試驗藥劑後，再將濾紙條放入裝有跳蚤之玻璃試管中，於三十分鐘內判定跳蚤於長條濾紙之停留分佈情形，即可判定試驗藥劑對跳蚤之忌避活性。此種以濾紙條進行跳蚤忌避劑之方法，具有下述之優點：(1) 非活體試驗模式，減少試驗動物之使用。(2) 濾紙條原料取得容易、便宜，較現行使用之動物試驗模式更為經濟，效果更好，符合經濟效益及人道精神。 (3) 節省時間，試驗時間於三十分鐘即可完成，可以短時間內進行大量樣品之篩選，大幅降低動物試驗所需的生產成本。 The current invention involved a simple screening system applicable for direct observation of the repellent activity of test compounds against cat flea without equipped with any expensive staff. The invention involves a new technique to speed up screening of repellent activity against cat flea, Ctenocephalides felis. Two same size of long-stripped filter paper (0.7 by 9 cm) were impregnated with test compound and vehicle respectively. After drying, the two filter papers were glued together in the long side and inserted into a glass tube (1.4 cm diameter, 25 cm long) where contained 30 non-fed cat fleas (C. felis). The distribution of cat fleas in each half of the filter paper was recorded after 30 min for the calculation of repellency. The system would be suitable for prescreening of large numbers of samples to facilitate the commercial development of flea repellent.
