克雷伯氏肺炎桿菌可以引起多種感染症，而莢膜為重要之致病因子，由自然界分離之新穎噬菌體與其莢膜分解酵素，具有莢膜特異性，對於特異莢膜型菌株與莢膜具有高度敏感性與專一性，可應用於快速分型與未來藥物與疫苗之發展。 本發明關於克雷伯氏肺炎桿菌菌株專一性新穎噬菌體及包含其之組合物。特定言之，本發明提供了該新穎噬菌體的多肽及其編碼核酸分子。本發明亦關於該新穎噬菌體及該多肽在偵測/治療/預防由克雷伯氏肺炎桿菌菌株造成之感染的應用。本發明亦提供以該多肽作為基礎的免疫原及疫苗的發展。 Klebsiella pneumoniae causes different diseases and capsule is an important virulence factor. Bacteriophages infected K. pneumoniae strains were isolated and capsule depolymerases of phages were identified. These phages and capsule depolymerases could be applied for rapid capsular typing and development of therapy and vaccine. The present invention relates to novel bacteriophages specific to K. pneumoniae strains, and compositions comprising the same. Particularly, polypeptides and their coding nucleic acid molecule of the novel bacteriophages are provided. The invention also relates to applications of the novel bacteriophages and the polypeptides in the detection/treatment/prevention of infection caused by K. pneumoniae strains. Development of immunogen and vaccine on the basis of the polypeptides are also provided.
