本項專利技術內容,係在增益導引折射率反導引光纖之核芯與覆層之間,加上一層均勻的介電材料,以做為高功率光纖雷射或光纖放大器之用。其中,光纖核芯之折射率較覆層為低,但核芯因摻雜某種稀土元素而能夠提供光之增益。所加上之介電材料,其折射率均高於核芯與覆層,其厚度則是根據光纖雷射或光纖放大器之信號光與泵浦光波長而決定。此介電層之功能旨在做為法布立-培若共振腔,藉由反共振反射之機制,以增進泵浦光端泵浦之效率。 This technique is to modify the gain-guided index-antiguided (GGIAG) fiber, by introducing a uniform dielectric layer between the core and the cladding of the GGIAG fiber, for high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers. In the GGIAG fiber, refractive index of the core is lower than that of the cladding, and there is a gain present in the fiber core to to make the signal gain-guided. For the introduced dielectric layer, its refractive index is higher than both of the core and the cladding. Moreover, its thickness is determined according to the wavelengths of the signal and the pump. The purpose of the introduced dielectric layer is to behave like a Fabry-Perot etalon, with the antiresonant reflection mechanism, the end-pumping efficiency for fiber lasers and amplifiers can be significantly increased.
