圖框速率提升轉換方法及其架構

本專利提出一個新方法不僅減少了運算複雜度,也改善了內插圖框影像的品質,所提出的方法包含雙向3DRS、自適應搜尋範圍的雙向動態估計、以及擴張邊界的動作補償。雙向3DRS快速的產生初始向量,而自適應搜尋範圍雙向動態估計更進一步提升初始向量的精準度,最後以張擴張邊界的動作補償改善區塊效應以提升影像品質。不同於傳統做法,本專利採用預測即補償的作法大幅提升了預測精準度,而實驗結果顯示平均PSNR提升了10%以上,而運算量更是大幅節省了85%以上,並且不占用過高的硬體成本。 This patent proposes a new frame rate up-conversion (FRUC) algorithm to reduce the computational complexity and improve the image quality. The proposed FRUC algorithm includes bi-directional 3DRS (Bi-3DRS), adaptive search range bi-directional motion estimation (ASR-Bi-ME), and modified overlapped block motion compensation (OBMC). Bi-3DRS can efficiently obtain the initial motion vectors, ASR-Bi-ME further improve motion vector accuracy and reduce the computational complexity, and OBMC is used to avoid blocking artifacts. Unlike conventional FRUC algorithms, our proposed algorithm performs MC when a block has finished ME procedure, and use the interpolated frame as one of the reference frame. The results of experiments conducted show that our proposed FRUC algorithm has about 85% less computation than other existing methods, with slight promote of image quality about 10% based on the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR).
