技術說明

癌症是細胞不正常的分裂和增生，經由轉移而擴散至身體其他器官。當利用醫療器械取樣癌細胞，檢測為良性或惡性腫瘤，癌細胞可能隨器械取樣的路徑擴散。因此我們將金屬玻璃鍍覆在器械表面，預期能避免癌細胞擴散的風險。首先將癌細胞固定細胞數量，分別培養於鍍有金屬玻璃薄膜及未鍍的醫療級玻璃表面，經由固定及乾燥處理，最後以SEM影像觀察癌細胞與不同試片表面附著的情形。如若癌細胞不適於附著的表面，將會依附在其他細胞，像是細胞堆積團聚的情形；癌細胞若是於存在，則會利用絲狀或平板狀的偽足，攤平在試片表面。根據SEM的觀察結果，相較之下，癌細胞是較不傾向貼附在金屬玻璃表面。 Cancer is the abnormal cell division and proliferation which is easy to transfer to other organs. Some medical devices require the anti-sticking properties of cancer cells, such as sampling from the tumor. There is probability to cause migration of cancer cells during sampling. Therefore, we deposited a thin layer of thin-film metallic glass (TFMG) on the medical device to prevent metastasis. First, we fixed the cancer cells on the bare and TFMG-coated medical glass samples. Based on the SEM images, we found that the cancer cells, which exhibit plate-like or filamentous pseudopodia, would aggregate on the bare samples. In contrast, cancer cells prefer not to attach on the TFMG-coated glass samples.
