技術說明

本發明係一種應用人類視覺恰可辨別差(JND)模型之快速JPEG2000影像壓縮編碼方法及壓縮影像品質評估方法，該應用人類視覺恰可辨別差模型之快速JPEG2000影像壓縮編碼方法係在原始JPEG2000標準之離散小波轉換與量化器之間插入一JND純量量化(JND_SQ)的程序，JND_SQ依視覺重要性重新量化小波係數，因此可將大量視覺上可忽略之係數量化為零，故可大幅降低非零係數之數目，進而降低編碼之計算量，而得以快速地完成影像編解碼。該壓縮影像品質評估方法係將原始影像與重建影像以同位切換(SPS)方式顯示，而取得客觀之可視差異距離數據，作為重建影像之視覺品質指標。 This invention includes two major parts: (1) Method of applying human visual JND model to JPEG2000 image coding standard, which not only improves the subjective image quality for the same bit rates, but also reduces computations significantly. (2) Propose a precise subjective image quality metric. This invention inserts the JND quantization(JND_SQ) process between Discrete Wavelet Transform and Quantizer in the original JPEG2000 standard. The JND_SQ pre-quantize the wavelet coefficients according to their importance in visual perception, large amount of insignificant coefficients are quantized to zero, thus reduces significantly the required computations and sped up the coding and decoding process.
