技術說明

本發明之峰值偵測電路及其方法利用二斜率不同之取樣信號取樣輸入信號於追蹤電壓，並比較以斜率較低之取樣信號進行取樣的追蹤電壓與即時之輸入電壓，以決定輸入電壓波形為上升或下降，且於輸入電壓波形剛開始下降時，以斜率較大之取樣信號進行取樣的追蹤電壓作為峰值。本發明之峰值偵測電路以取樣信號而非直接以回授之追蹤電壓與輸入電壓比較以控制追蹤電壓；並以直接以輸入電壓而非以運算跨導放大器充電於追蹤電壓之保持電容，因此減少始差電壓、過衝電壓與電壓下墜之情況，而減少峰值偵測的誤差。 A peak detect and hold circuit and method thereof includes utilizing two sampling signals with different slopes to determine where to sample an input voltage for respective tracking voltages; comparing the tracking voltage sampled with the samplinig signal of smaller slope and the instantaneous input voltage to determine whether the input voltage is rising or falling, and when the input voltage starts falling, the tracking voltage sampled with the sampling signal of larger slope is determined to be the peak. The peak detect and hold circuit controls respective tracking voltages by using the sampling signals rather than the feedback tracking voltage directly to compare with the input voltage. Also, it uses the input voltage directly rather than a transconductance amplifier to charge holding capacitors for the tracking voltages. Therefore, the situations where the detected peak voltage exists a pedestal voltage, overshoot voltage or a voltage droop are reduced.
