技術說明

本發明技術提出一利用可適性偏壓功率放大器(adaptive biasing PA),兩階段式相位內插相移器(two-step phase interpolator phase shifter),主動式功率分配器(active power splitter),注入鎖定三倍頻器(injection-locked tripler),可變增益低雜訊放大器(variable gain LNA)等電路共同組成之相位陣列傳收機(transceiver)。利用注入鎖定三倍頻器將LO訊號頻率乘三倍後將IF訊號升頻,並利用主動式功率分配器將訊號分成等振幅等相位的四路訊號。利用主動式功率分配器可使訊號不至因分配而衰減,同時在晶片面積上也能更有效率的利用。四路相同的訊號利用兩階段式相位內插相移器分別產生不同的相移量後,再利用可適性偏壓功率放大器將訊號放大而調整訊號輻射的方向。其中利用兩階段式相位內插相移器可以產生更好的相位解析度,而可適性偏壓功率放大器可以在不同輸入功率下皆提供最好的效率。接收機則利用四路天線收到訊號後,分別經由可變增益低雜訊放大器放大後也利用兩階段式相位內插相移器產生不同的相移量再將訊號合成,合成之訊號經過混頻器降頻後可還原出IF訊號。 The proposed phased-array TRX consists of the adaptive biasing power amplifiers (ABPAs), two-step phase interpolators (TSPIs), an active power splitter (APS), injection-locked frequency triplers (ILFTs), and variable-gain low-noise amplifiers (VGLNAs). The TX utilizes an ILFT to provide the required 3x LO signal, obviating a high-frequency PLL. The LO signal is mixed with the IF signal, and then delivered to the APS to generate four identical signals in each path. The four identical signals are shifted in different phases by the TSPIs to adjust the radiation direction. Using the TSPI, the phase resolution is improved significantly. The ABPAs provide high efficiency across a wide range of input power. In RX, the radiated signals are received by four antennas, amplified by the VGLNAs, and shifted in different phases by the TSPIs. The combined signal is then mixed with the LO signal to recover the IF signal. All of the building blocks use novel techniques and present good performances.
