技術說明

當DAC以簡易的零階保持形式產生訊號時,受限的頻寬將會使低取樣率、高頻寬訊號處理技術上行訊號所需的高頻殘影訊號被壓制,光波塑形的概念在於使用短脈衝、低重複率的光脈衝來取代方波脈衝,使得高頻殘影訊號不被壓制,能完整保留。   對於下行訊號來說,我們大抵可將轉換器的低取樣率與低頻寬效應分開來看,低頻寬可視作在取樣造成混疊之前先行移除下行技術中所需的高頻成分,也就是一種低通濾波的作用,而此作用可以在時域上視作高速取樣點間的符碼干擾(Inter-sample interference),此效應會導致低取樣率下各群組所得出的數據相同,無法解調出不同群組個別的訊號;光波塑形以光開關(optical gating)的方式工作,在訊號進入光偵測器與後續的低取樣率ADC之前,先壓制因低頻寬造成的Inter-sample interference,也就是消彌掉低通效應,使經過sub-Nyquist sampling後依然能保有低取樣率、高頻寬訊號處理技術所需的高、低頻訊號間頻譜混疊,以供用戶端(ONU)解調。 When signals are generated by the DAC, limited bandwidth will suppress the high-frequency image signals. The concept of light shaping is using low repetition rate short pulses of light instead of a square wave pulse, so that the high-frequency image signal will not be suppressed. For downstream signals, we probably can be divided into the low sampling rate effect and the effect of low bandwidth, low bandwidth can be seen as removing the high-frequency components required in downstream signals before aliasing caused by sub-Nyquist sampling, and this low-pass effect can be regarded as the inter-sample interference between the high-speed samples. Light shaping by optical gating, before the light detector and subsequent low sampling rate ADC, previously suppressed the Inter-sample interference due to low-pass effect, so that signals after sub-Nyquist sampling can retain necessary aliasing required in low sampling rate, high-bandwidth signal processing technology for demodulation in ONUs.
