技術說明

從Tinospora crispa萃取而得的borapetoside A和borapetoside C經實驗發現具有降血糖之功效，可用於第一型及第二型糖尿病及高血脂代謝症病人，除了降血糖功效外可能具有改善糖尿病或代謝疾病、血管疾病之功效。本藥物與metformin一樣均對第一型與第二型糖尿病小鼠有降血糖作用，但兩者若以降血糖功效與投與劑量相比，則borapetoside C功效約強100倍。對第二型糖尿病小鼠，borapetoside C可更有效增加胰島素釋放，對於餐後血糖之調節有很好之用途，而metformin在第二型糖尿病小鼠降血糖時並不會引起胰島素釋放，對餐後血糖之調節較無效果。Metformin在人體會引起乳酸堆積之危險，而borapetoside C在動物試驗之效果顯示有較好之安全性。 This invention is based on the unexpected discovery that two diterpenoid compounds isolated from Tinospora crispa, i.e., borapetoside A and borapetoside C, are effective in treating both type I and type II diabetes. This invention further feature is a method of lowering the plasma glucose level in a subject who needs this treatment (e.g., a type I or type II diabetic) by administering to the subject an effective amount of the compound described above.
