本發明提供一種臺灣本土植物兔尾草萃取物,該萃取物具有促進骨母細胞分化與骨質礦化以及神經保護之活性,可應用於骨質疏鬆症或神經保護之藥物或保健食品開發。 兔尾草以乙醇於室溫下萃取,經過濾、濃縮後,將乙醇萃取物分別以正己烷、乙酸乙酯、正丁醇進行分配萃取,再進一步進行乙酸乙酯層及正丁醇層萃取物之分離與純化,得到兔尾草的乙酸乙酯層及正丁醇層萃取物。經實驗驗證後,發現該等萃取物具有優異的神經保護及促進骨骼生長的效果。此外,本案自該萃取層中亦得到apigenin 6-C-(β-D-apiofuranosyl(1→2)-β-D-xylopyranoside)、tryptophan、maltol 3-O-β-d-glucopyranoside、adenosine、spatholosineside A、byzantionoside B、(7R, 8R)-threo-guaiacylglycerol-8-O-4′-sinapyl ether 7-O-β-d-glucopyranoside及thymine等化合物。 The invention provides U. crinita extract having activity in enhancing differentiation of osteoprogenitor cells, bone mineralization and neuroprotection, which can be used as drug or dietary supplement. U. crinita were extracted with ethanol and then filtered and concentrated. The resulting extract was partitioned with a sequence of n-hexane, ethyl acetate (EtOAc) and n-butanol (n-BuOH). The EtOAc layer and n-BuOH layer were further isolated and purified to obtain EtOAc extract and n-BuOH extract. After confirmed with experiments, these extracts have advantageous efficacy in protecting neurons and enhancing bone growth. Furthermore, apigenin 6-C-(β-D-apiofuranosyl(1→2)-β-D-xylopyranoside, tryptophan, maltol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, adenosine, spatholosineside A, byzantionoside B, (7R, 8R)-threo-guaiacylglycerol-8-O-4′-sinapyl ether 7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside and thymine are also isolated there from.
