技術說明

數位影片一直是學習英語的熱門媒體教材，它可以為學習者提供一個全英語學習環境，同時可以隨時預覽及複習課程內容，而不需要教師來現場教學。一些研究表示，數位影片可以促進學習者的學習動機及興趣，以及有效地促進學習英語的理解能力。雖然數位影片可以吸引學習者的注意力，但它仍然會導致一些負面的學習效果。根據認知負荷理論，動態媒體可能會產生外在認知負荷，而影響學習效果。為了解決這個問題，本技術提出一個影片註記學習系統，來加強英語的學習課程。影片註記服務提供了傳統的註記功能，其中包括影片螢幕上的文字和圖形的註記，並提供即時單字查詢及單字筆記功能，來加強影片學習英文效果。 Digital videos have been a popular foreign language learning media for learners, which could provide a learning environment to preview and review the course content without instructors’ teaching. Several studies indicated digital video could promote learners’ motivation, interests, concentration, and comprehension for learning foreign language effectively. Although digital video can attract the attention of learners, it still causes some negative effectiveness for learning. According to cognitive load theory, dynamic media may cause extraneous cognitive load that affects the learning effects. To solve this problem, this study proposes a web-based video annotation system was called WVAS, supporting foreign language learning activities. The WVAS provides traditional annotating functions which include textual and graphic annotations on video screen.
