技術說明

傳統介電濕潤元件在操作時是以施以外加電壓的方式來改變液體在介電層表面的接觸角或是表面能，由於其電壓主要是落在介電層上，因此。在此專利中，我們提出了使用高分子分散式液晶膜來取代傳統的介電層，可以使介電濕潤元件在操作時同時因為高分子分散式液晶薄膜的使用而有光學特性的改變。 而使用外加電壓或是電場控制液體的特性並不侷限於介電濕潤元件，舉凡使用電場或是外加電壓來驅動液體並同時在高分子分散式液晶薄膜上達到光學上的變化均為此專利的保護範圍。 In the traditional electrowetting-on-dielectric devices, the contact angle and surface energy between liquid and the surface of dielectric layer. During the driving, the voltage drops on the dielectric layer. Therefore, we purpose the use of polymer dispersed liquid crystal film to replace the conventional dielectric layer. The use of polymer dispersed liquid crystal film can cause the change of optic property while driving. The characteristics of driving liquid under an applied voltage or electric field does not limit to electrowetting-on-dielectric devices. The patent covers any case which drives the liquid and the polymer dispersed liquid crystal film with an electric field or external voltage simultaneously.
