In this work, we demonstrate for the synthesis, luminescent properties of new series of highly efficient green and red emitting Pt(II) complexes and their applications in OLEDs. In contrast to most Pt(II) emitters which show fairly long phosphorescent lifetimes and relatively poor emission quantum yields, our complexes exhibits the much shorter emission lifetime due to the enhanced contribution form the 3MLCT excited state. This unique property may somehow contribute to a reduced triplet-triplet annihilation process during fabrication of the future phosphorescent OLED devices, and giving benefit to the overall device efficiency.
