技術說明

臨床上發現一個無藥可治的嚴重抽動症病童，其家人自行給予服用苦林盤萃取液，兩年後成功治愈其抽動症狀，並無明顯的肝、腎、或血液毒性。在動物實驗也證實該草藥之酒精萃取物與分離之純化合物可以有效治療前脈衝抑制反應(PPI)。PPI是生物體過濾外界刺激的一種抑制性保護作用，在抽動症(含妥瑞氏症)、精神分裂症、好動症與強迫症病人均會因該功能失調，而導致對外界刺激有過度反應。因此，本發明可拓展到精神分裂症、強迫症或好動兒病人由於過濾外界刺激的功能失調而導致之過度反應。 This NSTPBP-funded project was initiated by a clinical observation that a patient with intractable motor tics was responsive to the leave extract of a local herb, Clerodendrum inerme (CI) (白花苦藍盤). We found the ethanol extract of CI leaves can relieve the disruption of prepulse inhibition of the startle reflex (PPI) induced by methamphetamine. PPI disruption can be measured in humans and animals, reflecting a deficit in sensorimotor gating function which is manifested in patients with Tourette syndrome (TS), a spectrum of motor tics, and is also happened in other psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia, attention deficit hyperreactivity disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. Hence, this invention can be applied for therapeutic uses for the above neurological/psychiatric disorders.
