技術說明

2,3-二磷酸甘油酸係血紅蛋白之內源異構因子，為人體內紅血球中除了負責攜帶氧氣之血紅蛋白以外最重要的物質。藉由精密地調控血紅蛋白之構型來降低血紅蛋白對氧之親合力，2,3-二磷酸甘油酸有效地協助血紅蛋白將氧氣釋放至體內各器官及組織細胞。一旦體內2,3-二磷酸甘油酸代謝發生異常，使2,3-二磷酸甘油酸濃度過低時，血紅蛋白將無法正常釋放氧氣，體內各器官及組織細胞在含氧量過低情況下，將可能發生包括阿茲海默症在內之各種氧損傷病症。本發明利用具特殊化學官能基及結構特性的化學物質來替代或補足體內過低之2,3-二磷酸甘油酸行使其協助釋氧的生物功能，可用以治療或改善因2,3-二磷酸甘油酸濃度過低導致之病症。 2,3-BPG, the essential endogenous Hb modifier is one of the most substances in erythrocytes in addition to the oxygen-carrying protein, hemoglobin. By delicately regulating the Hb allosteric behavior to lower the Hb oxygen affinity, 2,3-BPG effectively promotes the oxygen-delivery to organs and tissue cells. Despite its crucial importance in assisting Hb to release oxygen, the 2,3-BPG metabolism may degrade due to a variety of medical conditions, or simply decay chronically with aging, causing various oxygen-deficient related morbidities, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Some recent studies have found out that patients with AD have markedly reduced cerebral Hb oxygenation level, causing improper activation of brain function in the degenerating brain area. The reduced cerebral Hb oxygenation level and the occurrence of neurodegenerative diseases may be largely attributed to the defect 2,3-BPG metabolism and insufficient 2,3-BPG to aid Hb to release oxygen properly. This invention claims a type of chemical substances with a specific functional group that allows this type of substances to complement or replace the function of 2,3-BPG, and in turn to treat diseases resulted from age-related 2,3-BPG metabolism defects and/or impaired 2,3-BPG levels, including AD and non-AD neurodegenerative diseases.
