技術說明

本發明提出一偏極化白光發光二極體封裝結構: 將白光發光二極體封裝結構與金屬線柵偏光器結合封裝，使具反射功能之封裝基板、黃色螢光層與金屬線柵偏光器形成一共振腔。因為金屬線柵偏光器反射電場具TE偏極性的光波進入該螢光層以產生二次激發，所以增強由藍光激發黃光產生之白光發光量並增加消光比；同時白光發光二極體具有之色溫偏高、光源強度分布不均勻、黃圈現象與顏色隨著操作溫度上升變化等效應皆會被減少。在可見光波長範圍內，金屬線柵偏光器具有大角度範圍可透射電場偏極性為TM 的可見光波，與對於電場偏極性為TE的可見光波則具有高的反射率。將具奈米結構之金屬線柵偏光器面朝下置於黃色螢光層上方並隔一空隙，以保護該金屬線柵偏光層免於受損。 A polarized white light emitting diode provides a polarized white light to increase the extinction ratio. A LED chip is disposed on the substrate and provide for emitting first color light. A phosphor layer is dispensed around the LED chip. The metallic wire-grid polarizing layer is face downward to the surface of the phosphor layer with an air gap to prevent damaging. A yellow light is generated by exciting the phosphor layer with the blue light as penetrating through the phosphor layer. The metallic wire-grid polarizing layer reflects a portion of blue light, and this portion of blue light is multiply reflected in plural directions between the phosphor layer and air gap to produce secondary excitations. The polarized white light transmits through the metallic wire-grid polarizing layer by mixing a portion o blue light with the yellow light excited by the blue light.
