技術說明

許多研究報告證實發炎性反應於許多疾病之發生上扮演重要角色。這些發炎性相關疾病之發生和許多例如自由基、污染、飲食及壽命之外在壓力環境所誘發之身體慢性且長期發炎密切相關。 本發明係關於一種亞碸化合物及其生產方法。本發明另關於該亞碸化合物於抑制誘發型一氧化氮合成酶(inducible nitric oxide synthase，iNOS)及/或第二型環氧合酶(cyclooxygenase-2，COX-2)之表現的作用與用以治療與其相關疾病之應用。因此，這些亞碸化合物，其可經由養殖而得之珊瑚中萃取而得，具有成為抗發炎藥物之潛能，因為它們具有上述之生物活性，同時它們也可經由軟珊瑚之水產養殖而取得。 Imflammation has been proven to play an important role in the occurrence of several diseases in many studies. The occurrence of the inflammation-related diseases is highly associated with chronic and long-terminflammation induced by free radicals, pollution, food, ages, and pressure. This invention relates to sulfoxide compounds and the method of producing these compounds. The invention also relates to the uses of the sulfoxide compounds for inhibiting the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase and/or cyclooxygenase-2 and for treating the diseases associated with the effect of inducible nitric oxide synthase and/or cyclooxygenase-2. Thus, these cultured soft coral-producing sulfoxide compounds have the potential to be used as anti-inflammatory agents, as they possess the above-mentioned biological activity and also because these compounds could be produced by aquaculture of a soft coral.
